Faces, voices, small and large stories about Carrufo, a rural village in Abruzzo’s province of L’Aquila, come to life again in the passionate narration of Franca Celli, who came back to her native town after a long university career in the Unites States. The vicissitudes of a small community that has fought fiercely to affirm its identity and values, become the paradigm of the history of the minor Italy. The Italy belonging to the province and countryside, where the echoes of modernity arrive appeased by distance and communication difficulties with the big cities. A story alive, dense with emotions, where the protagonists can recognize themselves, while the new generations, especially those springing out of the emigration diaspora, will be able to find a thread connecting them with their own roots.
